Making Irish Sea Moss Gel
Here are 5 simple steps to prepare Irish Sea moss gel.
REHYDRATE
Put the raw Irish Sea moss in a container and submerge in water.
CLEAN
Massage the Irish Sea Moss with hands and remove sea debris such as, shells, rocks etc. Throw the water out and continue to rinse the Irish Sea moss until the water is clear.
STRAIN
Using a strainer, strain the excess water out
BLEND
Remove the Irish Sea moss from the strainer and put it in a high speed blender. Add a small amount of water into the blender. (Use spring, filtered or alkaline water, DO NOT use tap water) Blend the mixture until smooth, add more water or other liquid as needed and blend until desired consistency is achieved. Optional, can also add other fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices and juices to the mixture.
STORE
Pour the Irish Sea moss blend into a mason/jam jar and store in the refrigerator. In about 2 hours the blend will become gel. This can keep in the refrigerator for 14 days or more ( 7 days or more depending on what other ingredients were added to the blend). Alternatively you can store in the freezer using ice cube trays. This can keep for 3 months or more, perfect to add to smoothies. It's recommended to take 1- 3 tablespoons of Irish Sea moss gel daily to begin with and then uses as needed.
