Our Journey, Vision and Commitment to spreading love through HEALth!

Welcome to our First ever blog post! We are excited to have you join us on this journey as we share our story, values, and the driving force behind our commitment to spreading love through health. At THE UNION BLACK IRISH SEA MOSS we believe in making a positive impact and providing exceptional content, products and services to our valued community.

 

In this blog post, we want to introduce ourselves, give you a glimpse into our journey so far, and highlight the core principles that guide us in everything we do.

 

Our Story:

 

THE UNION BLACK IRISH SEA MOSS was born out of a passion for assisting people in their holistic healing journey. Our founders, Malachi , Massiah  and myself, Joy (all pictured), envisioned a solution that would revolutionize the awareness and education of the many benefits of Chondrus Crispus/Irish Moss/Irish Sea Moss and bring forth a new level of conciseness, that we can all indeed HEAL ourselves!

 

In 2018 during my last trimester pregnant with Malachi, results from a blood test showed I was severely anemic. I was told to go immediately to the hospital for an iron infusion. After the iron infusion I was prescribed iron supplements and was instructed to take them 3 times daily for the duration of my pregnancy. I did not like the effects the infusion and supplements had on me, and did extensive research on natural approaches to increase iron levels. Chondrus Crispus/ Irish Moss kept on coming up in my research, however because I was pregnant, I did not feel comfortable experimenting with other things at the time.

 

Months after I had Malachi, blood test still showed low iron levels despite infusions and supplements, however I was not keen to continue taking the supplements and gave Chondrus Crispus a try. I literally felt a drastic increased in my energy levels over night. It has been four years since I've been taking Chondrus Crispus and I am healthier than ever!

 

After seeing how I'd been able to heal myself using Irish Moss, I began offering it to family and friends and the rest is history! We launched our website June 2022 and had our first ever in person event on Saturday July 16 2023 with Urban Farmers' Market at Camberwell Green Market with.

 

Our Vision and Ethos:

We believe YOU have the power to heal yourself and we strive to assist you with this. We believe that by educating ourselves and listening to our community we can effortlessly enhance the generally health of our community. Our vision drives us to constantly innovate, improve, and exceed expectations in every aspect of our business.

We aim to maintain consistency, transparency, great quality and ethical behavior in all aspects of our brand's operations, including our products, services, communication, and interactions with our community.

 

Sustainability:

We are conscious of our impact on the environment and actively work towards sustainable practices. From responsible sourcing to eco-friendly packaging, we aim to minimize our ecological footprint and contribute to a greener future.

 

Teamwork and Collaboration:

Our success is built on the collective efforts of a talented and dedicated team. We foster a culture of collaboration, respect, and continuous learning, empowering each other to reach our full potential and achieve greatness together. We have also formed some collaboration with other brands and business that are in alignment with our vision and ethos. One of them is Life of a Tree whom we've collaborated on a number of projects including a collaboration of two products SuperFood Combo Gel Jar and SuperFood Combo Vegan Capsules. We use THE UNION BLACK IRISH SEA MOSS’s Chondrus Crispus and Life Of A Tree’s Moringa leaves.

 

Social Impact:

We embrace a sense of social responsibility and incorporate it into what we do. We work with youth aged 18 -25 and offer them paid apprenticeships through our partnership with Local Empowerment Network.
